For nearly 10 years, Andrew lived completely blind in his right eye. Despite the challenges, he continued pressing forward in faith.
Then God began to move.
A local doctor took a special interest in Andrew’s condition, and after four operations, his sight was restored.
One Sunday, Andrew returned to Westminster Baptist Church and saw Senior Pastor Nate DeVaughn clearly for the very first time.
With emotion, he said:
“Pastor Nate… is that you? I was blind, and now I see.”
Andrew’s testimony is a powerful reminder that God still performs miracles, restores hope, and changes lives.
“Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened…” — Isaiah 35:5

Five years ago, Barbara King found herself walking the streets of South Los Angeles, pushing a basket and struggling with addiction and hopelessness. During that difficult season, she met Pastor Nate DeVaughn, who told her:
“You don’t have to live this way.”
Pastor Nate invited Barbara to live at the Westminster Baptist Church Transitional Living program, where she found support, sobriety, and a renewed relationship with God.
Today, Barbara is five years clean and sober. She is now a faithful member of West Angeles Church of God in Christ, where Charles Blake serves as Presiding Pastor.
Barbara is also engaged to be married and living in her own apartment — a powerful testimony of God’s grace and restoration.
With gratitude in her heart, Barbara says:
“God has been good to me.”
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Andrea Williams says it best:
“Free at last.”
On February 2, 2022, Andrea came to Los Angeles from Seaside, California after her cousin, Belinda DeVaughn, invited her to help manage the Westminster Baptist Church Transitional Living program.
Andrea began working as a manager from 4 PM to 12 AM. At first, adjusting to the work and responsibilities was not easy, but she remained faithful, committed, and determined to grow.
Over time, what started as an opportunity became a calling.
Today, more than two and a half years later, Andrea serves as the General Manager, working alongside Pastor Nate DeVaughn — and she says she has never looked back.
Andrea is now four years free, walking in purpose, stability, and gratitude for how God transformed her life.
Her testimony is proof that when God opens a new door, your past does not define your future.
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36

For Anna Weston, cooking has always been more than preparing meals — it has been a ministry of love, comfort, and healing.
Today, Anna serves as a chef at the Westminster Baptist Church Transitional Living, where her meals have become known as:
“Soul food for your heart.”
Anna is now 18 years clean and sober, and she gives God the glory for transforming her life. Coming from a family of cooks, she learned early how food could bring people together, but through her journey at Westminster Baptist Church, she discovered something even greater — how faith, fellowship, and service can nourish the soul.
With a warm smile and caring spirit, Anna helps create a true family atmosphere, often preparing dinners after church that bring residents, members, and guests together around the table.
Known as an outstanding cook, Anna says her greatest joy is serving others with love while walking in the freedom and purpose God gave her.
“Taste and see that the Lord is good…” — Psalm 34:8
Anna’s testimony reminds us that God can take our gifts, restore our lives, and use both to bless others.
